Hypnosis can be very helpful for people dealing with death and/or loss. Grieving is often a longer process than anyone realizes. This is not helped by the fact that there are few rituals to help grievers in our culture or country and support from family and friends can’t always be enough.

She or he can provide help in terms of accepting the reality of the situation, experiencing and tolerating the pain of it, constructing ways to express your most painful feelings, uncovering feelings of guilt, blame or anger, beginning to reorganize, integrating the loss into a new life, reinvesting in new relationships and lastly helping to repair your outlook on the world after having gone through a difficult and often complicated situation.

Importantly, hypnosis can provide a safe place for the griever to go for a moment, a place to rest from the work of grieving.
